Questions and answers

What partners ask us most. If your question is not here, ask us directly.

What is Telquay?
A Canadian hosted business phone service that IT companies, installers and phone dealers sell to their own customers under their own brand. We run the phone platform; the partner owns the customer.
Can I sell it under my own brand?
Yes. Your customers buy from you and see your company name and support contact, not ours.
Who supports the end users?
You give first-line help: adding users, phones, resets and how-to questions. We give your team second-line help and look after the platform, the carrier and number porting.
Will you sell to my customers directly?
No. We never sell to a partner's customers directly.
Is the service running today?
Yes. Our hosted phone platform carries 5 businesses with about 46 desk phones and softphones, through one Canadian carrier, Iristel. We do not name our customers.
What happens if the platform has a problem?
Platform problems are ours to fix. We keep nightly backups with an off-site copy, practise restores (our drill takes about 21 minutes), and the server is monitored by a watchdog.
Can you port my customers' existing numbers?
Yes. We port numbers for you. For a larger migration, we plan the timing with you.
Which desk phones work?
Supported desk phone models are provisioned over the internet: plug one in and it picks up its settings. Ask us for the current list of models.
How does 911 work?
Every number has a civic address on file that the partner gives us and keeps current, and 911 calls go out through our Canadian carrier with that address. Softphone users must keep a correct address, and 911 may not work during a power or internet outage.
What does it cost?
We bill partners monthly, a wholesale price per seat and per number, and you set your own retail price. Talk to us for a quote while we finish our partner price list.
Is there a minimum number of seats?
Minimums are part of the partner terms we agree with you. Tell us what you expect to sell and we will give you an answer in writing.
Where are you based?
Mississauga, Ontario. We are signing partners in Ontario first, then across Canada.
